Pip stood by the swings with his paws full of sweat,
The playground was noisy. He hadn’t played yet.
His tail gave a twitch, and his ears gave a flop,
His tummy yelled “RUN!” but his feet wouldn’t hop.
He peeked at the kids with their jump ropes and chalk,
He wanted to join… but then he’d have to talk.
The thought made him dizzy. His voice hid away.
What if they laughed? Or told him, “No way”?
