The Milkmaid and Her Pail

A milkmaid walked to market with a full pail balanced on her head. As she walked she began to plan: she would sell the milk, buy eggs, raise chickens, and with the money from the chickens she would buy a fine new dress. Imagining herself in it, she tossed her head proudly. The pail tipped, the milk poured into the road, and every plan poured out with it.
